There is a major aspect of video testimonials that is overlooked.

Your customers love getting behind a fancy camera and talking about their company. Yes the main focus is your company, but don’t underestimate the power behind that executive featuring their company…and for free. That is called earned media and marketers love it. When gathering testimonials for a former assignment, I always felt a little like an inconvenience. I knew our clients were busy and I was asking them to take time out of their day to talk about us. I often offered to provide a Starbucks gift card or something fancy in exchange for their testimonials, until it hit me…they actually love it.


In conclusion, if you are in to taking the easy route, video testimonials may not be for you. You can likely create some written content much cheaper and with less effort. However, if done the right way, video testimonials can easily pay for themselves and be well worth the initial investment.
